The Brief

The LĪT [v3] is NUUK's desk fan and mood-light, built around a magnetic remote (the THŪMB Candy), a beechwood stand, and three warm mood lights. The how-to needed to cover unboxing, setup, charging and cleaning without turning into a floating-product spec video.

My job was to make it watchable — planning the shoot, directing the talent and set, and boarding every beat in advance around a single character at her desk, so the feature walkthrough played more like watching a designer use her own desk toy than sitting through a manual.

Boarding It First

Before anything was shot, every beat — unboxing, setup, the THŪMB Candy remote, charging, cleaning — was mapped panel by panel. Boarding it around one desk and one character kept the coverage simple to shoot and easy to follow, without losing the personality of the piece.

Directing the Set

One character, one desk, played straight: a sit-stand desk, an ergonomic chair, a cutting mat, a jar of pencils, a couple of die-cast toy cars for hands to fidget with between takes. Kaveri, an industrial designer at NUUK, was cast to unbox and set up the LĪT [v3] the way she actually would — screwdriver included.

The Film

The finished how-to runs through every step in order — unboxing, setup, the feather-touch controls, the THŪMB Candy remote, charging and reverse charging, cleaning — paced so it plays like watching a colleague set up her own desk, not a manual read aloud.

Every Step, In Character

Each callout stayed in scene rather than cutting to a clean product shot — assembly done with a real screwdriver over a cutting mat, the remote snapping onto the fan mid-fidget with a toy car, the warranty QR card handed over like an actual unboxing moment.

Design First, Function Always

Closing on NUUK's own line — "Design First, Function Always" — next to the LĪT [v3] in profile was the whole pitch in one frame: a desk object worth looking at, not just a fan you learn to operate.
